meditations

sometimes on quiet nights i go out and up to the crows nest and just stand alone with my thoughts. the cold, salty air and sound of the water slapping against the hull under the beautiful expanse of stars in the nighttime sky is the perfect setting for doing some real heavy thinking. sometimes i think about how out here at sea i can't see anything but horizon all around, and it makes me feel so insignificant, yet also powerful at the same time, because physically i am like a tiny particle in an infinite universe, but the whales are like tiny particles that are a little bit bigger, so they are a bit more significant than me when compared to the universe, but i have killed so many of them and not one whale has ever killed me. so that helps me get over my feelings of irrelivance.
another thing i sometimes do is instead of going down to the head i just whiz right off the side of the crows nest.
